Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood will deliver the State of the City address at 11:30 a.m. today. Allegood is the featured speaker at the Acworth Business Association's February luncheon, which will be held at NorthStar Church. Among other things, Allegood is expected to tell area stakeholders that Cedarcrest Church will open in May; the new police headquarters is scheduled to be completed in August 2014; NCG Cinemas will soon open the first extreme screen in Georgia in Acworth; and five railroad crossings will become quiet zones.
