Acworth Man Faces Charges After Standoff

For hours Tuesday afternoon, no one was allowed access to the Chestnut Hill subdivision off Bells Ferry Road.

The 23-year-old man who allegedly charged a Cobb County Police officer with a knife Tuesday afternoon and kept neighbors from their homes for close to six hours as law enforcement negotiated with him has been identified as Timothy Przedpelski of Acworth. Przedpelski is being held on charges of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault, according to online Cobb County jail records. Around 3 p.m., two officers went to a home at 667 Wolfs Bane Dr. to respond to a dispute between Przedpelski and his parents, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. The home is located in the Chestnut Hill subdivision off Bells Ferry Road.
