'Vegas' Lucky for Strand First-Timer
Jeanne Wells wins a pair of tickets to Thursday night's premiere.
We wanted to hear about your favorite Earl Smith Strand Theatre moments, but Patch's ticket giveaway proved to be a golden opportunity to visit the Marietta Square theater for the first time. More than half the people who entered the contest by posting comments across Cobb County Patches said they have never seen a show at the Strand but would love to do so. That group includes our randomly selected winner, Jeanne Wells. "I have not yet been to the Strand but I am looking forward to possibly having an event there sometime in the near future," wrote Wells, the activities director for Dogwood Forest of Marietta, an assisted-living facility in East Cobb. Thank you so much Northeast Cobb Patch for the tickets to the Vegas Show. I went and I actually gave the Strand some extra business by taking another person other than the two winning tickets. I wanted to say that the event is for a very good cause, being a benefit for the Humane Society. The theatre was packed solid with people coming to see the show.
