Duncan Named Acworth Citizen of the Year

The Chick-fil-A operator has the heart of a servant leader, Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood said.

An Acworth Chick-fil-A operator was among three Cobb County residents honored Wedneseday by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Northwest Cobb Area Council as Citizens of the Year. In addition to giving back to his company, Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood said Acworth Citizen of the Year Andy Duncan gives back to the community by being a Partner in Education, working with MUST Ministries, and being a member of the Acworth and Kennesaw Business Associations, among other things. "He has the heart of a servant leader, rarely says, 'No,' but always says, 'Is this enough?' Cobb's 'Citizens of the Year' Honored

Three local residents were recognized for their outstanding dedication to their businesses and the community around them.

Three northwest Cobb County residents received “Citizen of the Year” honors for their tireless community activism and business successes at a Wednesday afternoon meeting of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce at the Marietta Country Club. Chef Henry Chandler of Henry's Louisiana Grill and Henry's Uptown in Acworth, Jay Cunningham of Superior Plumbing in Kennesaw, and Gwen Buller of GTC (Governors Towne Club) Gives Back in Acworth were recognized by the Acworth, Kennesaw and West Cobb business associations respectively. Chandler, described by Acworth Business Association President Vince Bubolo as an “anchor,” draws nearly 2,000 people a week to the city's downtown business area because of his cajun restaurant and party venue.
