Local residents spoke to Patch about the things that kept them entertained during the heavy snowfall.
The snowpocalypse has hit Cobb County hard, and kept most government offices closed and events canceled for most of the week with schools being out for five consecutive days. While most people seemed to have enjoyed the weather and change of pace, others will tell you that the snow has definitely set them back a bit. This has been the largest amount of snowfall Georgia has seen since 1993, and many Acworth residents have been taking advantage of it by sled riding, building snowmen, spending time with family, and even getting some chores done around the house. Colleges and high schools have been out for nearly a full week, and the students don't seem to mind it at all except for the work they will have to make up in the coming week. Even …

Name: Crystal Wheeler Age: 50 Occupation: Radio & Television What did you want to be when you grew up? Disc Jockey. I had trouble getting jobs because of my southern accent...I grew up in Kentucky. What made you decide to be in the Radio-TV industry? I do audio for Radio & TV. I always wanted to work behind the scenes in one of these fields and I feel very lucky to have been able to get into both areas. Where are you originally from? I am from Defoe, Kentucky, which is a very small town halfway between Louisville and Lexington. How did you get to Georgia and Acworth? It has been a big year for the city of Acworth in 2010. It celebrated its sesquicentennial, and landed the All-America City award. Patch interviewed local residents who hold different roles in the community, and asked them what makes Acworth a true All-America City. The community has spoken out, and one thing they agree on is that, the caring and giving people of Acworth are the most special and All-America out of all the qualities this city has.
