Bio Angela is a journalist with a strong passion for storytelling and producing compelling multimedia content. Determined to pursue a career in journalism from the beginning of her studies at Washington State University, Angela has four years of experience in television, and has worked in various newsrooms as both a reporter and a producer in the State of Washington, Missouri, and Washington, DC. In August 2010, Angela received her master's degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. During the past two years, she worked as a reporter and newscast producer for KOMU 8 TV - the NBC Affiliate in Columbia, MO, and was working with CNN Newsgathering Unit in Washington, DC while conducting research for her master's thesis before joining Patch. Working as an editor for Patch.com is a tremendous opportunity for Angela to continue her pursuit as a multimedia journalist.
To Angela, journalism is all about storytelling and building bridges, whether it's a story about someone she has yet to meet thousands of miles away, or a story about her next door neighbor. There is more than one place she calls home. From the beautiful Eugene, Oregon where her family always welcomes her with open arms, to the lively Shenzhen on the southern coast of China where she spent her precious childhood, Angela grew up traveling throughout different countries, and meeting people from various, distinctive backgrounds. She speaks three languages - English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and is in the process of learning Japanese. She loves music, dancing, playing the piano, cooking, skiing, and most importantly, storytelling. She is excited to meet all of you and tell your stories on Acworth Patch.
Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for editors to inject their beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that editors' beliefs are on the record will cause them to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
Politics
How would you describe your political beliefs?
I'm not associated with any political party and consider myself generally moderate.
Religion
How religious would you consider yourself? (casual, observant, devout, non religious)
I'm a devout Christian-Protestant with great respect for people who have different beliefs.
