Stephanie Walsh, M.D., Medical Director, Child Wellness, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
With more than a dozen years of experience in promoting wellness and addressing obesity-related complications, Stephanie Walsh, M.D., is a leader in the field. As Medical Director of Child Wellness at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Dr. Walsh helps to lead the organization's efforts in preventing and treating childhood obesity by encouraging Georgia families to live healthier lifestyles.
In 2008, Dr. Walsh worked with Children's staff, Miriam Vos, M.D. and Andrew Muir, M.D., to establish the Health4Life Program at Children's to treat children affected by obesity and its related health issues. Today, Dr. Walsh leads the Health4Life Clinic team, made up of doctors, nurses, dieticians, psychologists, child life specialists and exercise physiologists who work with patients and families to provide intensive treatment of obesity, promotion of a physically active lifestyle and healthy eating habits and behavior change.
Dr. Walsh provides medical counsel for Strong4Life, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta wellness movement. She assists in the implementation of Strong4Life Programs and writes her own blog, Healthy Dose, to reach families across Georgia and beyond. She also serves as a local and national Strong4Life media spokesperson and has appeared on CBS The Early Show, OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network and more.
