New Senior Housing Starts Pre-Leasing

The Legacy at Walton Overlook in Acworth will be ready for occupancy starting in June.

The 108 newly-constructed apartment homes for seniors 55 and up, the Legacy at Walton Overlook, is now in the final stages of completion and will be ready for occupancy beginning in June.

The community, located at 4645 Spring Street in Acworth, will provide a quality living environment for seniors and features amenities including a library and computer-equipped media center, fitness center, billiard room, hair salon, theater and game room as well as planned social, educational and cultural activities.

Special rental assistance will be provided at 55 of the 108 apartment homes through Project Based Vouchers provided by the Marietta Housing Authority. These are reserved for seniors age 62 and older and who meet applicable maximum income requirements.

The site-based waiting list for Project Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) for admission to The Legacy at Walton Overlook will open today. Applicants who are age 62 and older can obtain preliminary applications for the Project Based Voucher apartments by:

  • Marietta Housing Authority, 95 Cole Street, Marietta; Mon–Fri, 9 a.m.-4 p.m;
  • Marietta Housing Authority, Acworth office, 4173 Kienel Drive, Acworth; Thursday, Feb 23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

2. Calling 770-419-5115 and leaving your name and address. Specify that you are requesting an application for The Overlook. A preliminary application will be mailed to you at the address provided.

Eligible applicants will be placed on the site-based waiting list and will be ranked in the order in which the applications are received. Preliminary applications will be accepted until further notice.
