Make a Child in Need Your Valentine

in Acworth is one of the local businesses that have joined the Pajama Program in a nationwide effort to help children in need.

The Pajama Program is a New York City based non-profit organization that helps collect and provide new pajamas and books for needy children. Most of the children in the program live in orphanages, group homes and shelters. The program mission is to give these children the opportunity to enjoy "the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime and read to them."

The organization has given out more than one million pajamas and books to children in need nationwide, according to its website.

You can make a child your "special someone" this Valentine's Day by:

• Donating new pajamas (all sizes including teens)
• Donating new books
• Making a financial donation
