Prom Dress Help for High School Students

Here are the things you should know before heading out the door Mar. 9.

1. Weather. Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected today, and some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall, according to the National Weather Service. High temp is near 58 degrees, with east wind between 5 and 10 mph and gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches is possible. Going into tonight, there will be a chance of showers with a low temp around 42 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

2. In case you missed it. : The Cobb County School District could save about $5 million in transportation costs next school year by strictly enforcing a rule that students must walk if they live within 1.5 miles of school, but Superintendent Fred Sanderson told the Board of Education during a budget work session Monday night that such a move would be a mistake.
